Our Activities

Tourists have the opportunity to discover the rich cultural endowment of Cameroon. Cameroon contains more than 230 tribal/ethnic groups, with each group having their own languages, cultural manifestations and folklore.

Heritage Tours organizes visits through pre-packaged and  tailor-made packages to traditional palaces, some of which are UNESCO cultural heritage sites and house museums rich in antiquities. In addition, Heritage Tours allows the visitor to interact with the community through engaging in the cultural manifestations (such as ritual worship, marriage, birth, death celebrations) and through home stays and community based work programs.  Some examples of the festivals to which Heritage Tours organizes visits:

· Nguon-Foumban: every 2 years in December (next occurring in 2008)

· Ngondo Festival of the Sawas (Douala people): every December

· Awing Tourism and Cultural Festival: every February

· Lela festival of Bali-Nyongha: every 2 years in December

· Palace dance of the Fons of Mankon & Bafut: every December

· Maroua festival of arts and music (folklore, dance, gastronomy, crafts): end  of February-beginning of  March each year

· Ascension of Cameroon mountain: March

And many more festivals throughout the year. Heritage Tours can incorporate any of the above  into your tour if you wish.

These cultural manifestations are characterized by the exhibition of ancient works of art in each community, dancing clad in colorful traditional regalia, horse riding displays that are a fantasia of coler….

Heritage Tours also organizes expeditions which enable tourists to discover the pygmies , one of the oldest peoples in Africa whose way of life has not been effected by modernity as we know it. Discover their fabled craft in ancient medicines and their adaptiveness to their natural habitat.
